St Helens Area Marriage Index 1538-1940The CD contains the records of 72,000 marriages which took place in 27 different Churches in the St Helens area between 1538 and 1940. The information has been transcribed directly from Parish Records, Church Records and archive film. The transcriptions were carried out by many different people over the last ten years. St Helens Absent Voters Lists 1918-1923As the result of an Act of Parliament passed on 6th February 1918, servicemen over the age of 21 became eligible to vote in their home constituency. The first so-called Absent Voters List (AVL) was compiled from details supplied by the men themselves.
